Dr. Braxton-Hicks, or the Drs. Braxton and Hicks, or whomever the pair of names refer to, "discovered" in the 1880s a phenomenon that had been happening to women presumably since Eve had Cain: "false" labor contractions, or practice contractions. Here's the thing about Braxton-Hicks contractions-- it's really hard to tell them sometimes from real ones.
So as I sit here contracting, trying to decide if this is real or just a real long practice, I have to think the guy was probably a jerk. Or a pair of jerks.
