What Do I Do With Beans?

May I offer a suggestion?

Look at Peggy's Kitchen recipies here; these are somewhat foofy but always very good.  Not necessarily cheap, but it gets you in the right ballpark thinking about what to put with beans.

For cheap, and tasty, try Maggie's "Frugal Abundance" recpies here.

You can always fry in a scambled egg and a bit of meat for pork/chicken/shrimp/alligator fried rice.  Veggies would make it healthier.

And finally, you must make this dahl, which will blow the top of your head off, so make some plain rice to go with it.  (Try for brown rice-- complimentary protien so you won't get kwashikor.)

I think they'd let you take curry powder into Honduras, wouldn't they?

Just think of things (like spices or smoked meat) that add a lot of flavor for a tiny volume.  Not sure what is cheap in Honduras.  Please take a bottle of multivitamins for personal use with you, though, ok?  No scurvy?  And take care of your teeth and feet.

Cheers,

Breanna
