Good Friday

If you get tempted to think that your Good Friday is not solemn and remembering enough, contemplate a couple of things.

1. Work is prayer, as Luther would say; my great-grandfather used to plant potatoes on Good Friday.  (It's good timing for the potatoes, most years.)

2. Reflect that you could have been me.  Yesterday we were working diligently to clean the whole house the way you have to clean it before putting said house on the market, and Buddy was holding an extending pole that usually has a scrubby pad on the end.  Miss Boo had the scrubby pad, and Buddy, either in a fit of glee or trying to clean, whacked the pole into the TV.

The TV did not emerge unscathed.

In fact, it is apparently possible to crack some sort of "inner screen" on an LED TV, which makes it so that half the screen is (and always will be) dark.

So.  We are looking at replacing the TV; in the meantime we are forced to be an exemplary family, reading to each other, doing wholesome puzzles, and so on.

At least we can concentrate on Good Friday.

Cheers,

Breanna
